In the 2007 James A. and Linda R. Mitchell Forum on Ethical Leadership, the American College Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics in Financial Services convened a group of financial services executives and leading academics to discuss ethical issues relevant to the industry today.
Specifically, the group talked about who is responsible for the ramifications of financial decisions: consumers, or the advisors or companies they work with. Considerations of who should be morally culpable in cases of ethically gray transactions were the heart of the conversation.
